The Legacy of the Crittall® Trademark
Crittall Windows’ roots trace back to the mid-1800s, when Frances Berrington Crittall and his son Francis Henry Crittall established their window manufacturing business in Braintree, Essex. Crittall Windows Limited was then incorporated as a company limited by guarantee in 1924.
Nearly 200 years of exceptional craftsmanship have earned Crittall a reputation synonymous with quality steel windows and doors. In order to protect this longstanding legacy, the word Crittall was registered with UK Trademark No. 492,639 on 22nd June 1928.

The Crittall® trademark ensures that the name Crittall is only used to refer to windows manufactured by Crittall Windows Limited, rather than being used as a generic term for steel windows.
We fiercely protect the Crittall® trademark, taking legal action against any third parties who attempt to use the name Crittall to refer to windows not manufactured by Crittall Windows Limited. Because of this, buyers can rest assured knowing that when they choose Crittall Windows, they are getting iconic Crittall windows built to our own exacting standards.
