Crittall has further enhanced its environmental credentials following the installation of LED lighting throughout the office and factory space at its Witham plant.
The new lights last much longer than the ageing tungsten bulbs and fluorescent lighting they have replaced and will save an estimated 50% on energy consumption and provide improved light levels for employees. The move follows the installation of solar panels on the factory roof and the introduction of electric hybrid vehicles to the company fleet.
Crittall operates an ISO 14001 accredited Environmental Management System, part of which involves setting targets for reducing energy consumption, eliminating waste and recycling materials with the ultimate objective of creating a closed loop manufacturing process.
